The Carlisle Family YMCA offers a variety of programs, events, classes and more for both children and adults in our community. Most members are aware of our gym and our fitness classes, which are both awesome opportunities.
However, we also offer many youth programs, including a year-round, full-time Child Care Center, a School Aged Before- and After-School Care Program and a Child Watch classroom!
Child Care Center
Our Child Care Center is a Keystone STARS 4 Center. It offers an Infant Classroom (6 weeks-1 year), a Toddler Classroom (1-3 years) and a Preschool Classroom (3-5 years). Our Child Care Program is a year-round program, with no extended summer or winter break. The hours of operation for the Child Care Center are 6:30am-6pm. Children enrolled in our Child Care Program have plenty of interaction with their peers, complete arts and crafts, hear stories read aloud, play outside, sing songs and more! The Preschool Classroom begins to prepare for kindergarten, practicing things such as single file lines, raising their hand, walking quietly in the hallways, sitting crisscross applesauce, letter and number recognition, using table manners during lunch, using the bathroom independently and more. Preschool students also receive swim lessons in our indoor pool on Friday mornings as part of their tuition!
School Aged Child Care
Our School Aged Child Care (SACC) program offers before- and after-school care for elementary aged children in the South Middleton School District. The SACC program is held at W.G. Rice Elementary School in Mt. Holly Springs. The before-school portion starts at 6:30am and goes until the school day starts, around 8:45am. The after-school portion starts at 3:30pm and ends at 5:30pm. Our SACC program is state licensed through the Department of Human Services. The program offers time to complete homework, a light snack, group games, outside play time and more.
Child Watch is a great option for adults that want to keep active and also have children. Our Child Watch classroom is located on the second floor of our building and allows parents to drop off their children for up to two hours while they work out or use our facility. The parent(s) must remain on site while using the Child Watch classroom. This classroom serves children ages 6 weeks to 8 years and even offers Saturday morning hours!
Not only are these programs great options for youth development, but they also are great employment opportunities for adults in our community. Each of the three programs described currently has job openings! For more information about enrolling a child into any of the programs or for employment information, please contact Child Care Director Brittany Nissley at firstname.lastname@example.org.
