Member Service Coordinator

Member Service Coordinator Requirements:
● Associates degree or work equivalent in an area similar to Human Resources, Business Management or Administration, etc.
● Strong communication, customer service and problem-solving skills
● Organizational and supervisory skills; a good understanding of administrative procedures; and organization, income production, expense control, maintenance of accurate records and computer services
● Excellent written and oral communication skills
● Ability to delegate appropriate responsibilities to other staff
● Ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with staff, volunteers, YMCA members and the general public
● Willingness to commit to the mission of the YMCA
● Ability to actively listen
● Ability to complete all required YMCA new hire trainings within 30 days of hire date
● Previous experience with diverse populations, or the ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds

Member Service Coordinator Responsibilities:
● Perform and provide excellent customer service skills by exceeding member expectations
● Provide accurate information about membership and programs
● Always have a friendly, helpful attitude and wear a smile
● Recruit, hire, train and supervise the membership service representative staff
● Provide leadership for an effective tour and enrollment procedure via desk staff
● Provide leadership for the continued improvement of all desk services to include member and program participant relations, information and program registration
● Ensure the delivery of appropriate sales and customer service training for desk staff
● Accurately maintain all membership/program records and cash controls
● Assist Health and Wellness / Membership Director in reaching monthly goals for numbers for prospects toured and new members enrolled
● Assist in development, ordering and productions of all membership and program materials
● Monitor temporary signage in the building for current information, accuracy and professional look
● Conduct annual audit of membership documentation
● Assist in preparation of membership reports/statistics
● Monitor monthly sales/cancels through daily reports
● Follow and enforce all YMCA procedures and policies, including personnel guidelines, safety guidelines, facility access procedures and membership policies; and carry out emergency plans as necessary.
● Maintain an organized front desk and clean and safe YMCA
● Attend and remain current on all mandatory trainings and staff meetings
● Be knowledgeable and supportive of the YMCA annual support campaign, and participate in assigned leadership functions for the campaign
● Assume other responsibilities as deemed appropriate by supervisor

Job Type:
● Full-time non-exempt
● Shift times will vary between weekdays and weekends

Member Service Coordinator Pay:
● $13/hour for 40 hours a week (overtime after 40 hours)
● Includes health, dental and vision insurance; sick and vacation pay; and retirement benefits (once vested)

Member Service Representative

Member Service Representative Requirements:
• Strong sales and customer service experience
• Computer and internet skills
• Enjoy meeting people and a fast-paced work environment
• Effectively multi-task while working your scheduled shift
• Work weekends on a rotation

Member Service Representative Responsibilities:
• Member service
• Membership sales
• Promoting programs
• Point of contact in facility and/or medical emergencies
• Attend monthly staff meetings and/or trainings
• Various other small projects as assigned

Job Type:
• Part-time - generally 4+ hours (standing) and 2 or 3 days a week with rotating weekend shifts
• Various shifts available: 5:30-10pm

Member Service Representative Pay:
• $7.25/hour plus retention commission
• Includes a complimentary individual Y membership

Part-time Assistant Teachers

Assistant Teacher Requirements:
● 2,500 hours of documented experience working with children, which can include babysitting, volunteer work, church programs, etc.
● 3 required background checks: FBI fingerprint clearances, Child abuse clearance and State police background check
● Recent health assessment and TB test

Assistant Teacher Responsibilities:
●  Must have a love for children and be comfortable communicating with parents in our Child Care Center
●  Must be willing to interact and engage all children under your supervision

Job Type:
● Part-time
● Flexible hours - willing to work with college schedules
● All shift times available between 6:30am-6pm Monday through Friday

Assistant Teacher Pay:
● $9/hour and includes a complimentary or reduced rate Y membership depending on the number of hours worked

Certified Lifeguards

Certified Lifeguard Requirements:
● Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
● At least 15 years old

Certified Lifeguard Responsibilities:
●  Watch our 8-lane, 25-yard indoor pool during a variety of scheduled activities, including but not limited to: lap swimming, rec swimming, swim lessons and water exercise classes
●  Take accurate readings
●  Some daily maintenance such as putting in/taking out lane lines

Job Type:
● Part-time
● A variety of shifts are available 7 days a week, but we specifically need guards on Thursday and Friday mornings and afternoons

Certified Lifeguard Instructor Pay:
● $8-9/hour depending on experience
● Includes a reduced or complimentary Y membership, depending on the number of shifts worked

Water Exercise Instructors

Water Exercise Instructor Requirements:
● Certification of experience leading fitness classes preferred
● Physically fit with at least basic swimming ability
● Outgoing personality
● Currently have or willing to get CPR & First Aid certified

Water Exercise Instructor Responsibilities:
●  Create and lead water exercise classes in our indoor pool
●  The ability to adjust your workouts for all ages and physical abilities

School Age Child Care Group Supervisor

Child Care Group Supervisor Requirements:
● Associate’s Degree, but a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
● 2,500 hours of documented experience working with children, which can include babysitting, volunteer work, church programs, etc.
● Recent health assessment and TB test
● Experience working or volunteering with school age children preferred

Child Care Group Supervisor Responsibilities:
● Group Supervisors are in charge of program operations when the SACC director is not present and may be asked to open and close the center from time to time
● Ensure that SACC participants are safe and entertained, treating each other with respect and following program rules at all times

Job Type:
● Part-time Before and After School - (M-F) 6:45-8:45am and 3:30-5:30pm
● During the summer, the SACC Group Supervisor has the option of working in our summer camp and child care programs at the Carlisle Family YMCA

Child Care Supervisor Pay:
● $10-$12/hour depending on experience - Includes a complimentary or reduced rate Y membership depending on the number of hours worked
